T RAKESH PATRO EXPERIENCE AT GRMI 

We asked a handful of our students to reflect on their time experience at risk management institute so far and to answer a few questions we put them. We hope that this series of Q&A gives you a sense of who they are and what they think of the institute. We hope it also provides a window into their academic and extracurricular lives. They all share a common love for GRMI and a shared desire to make a difference in the world.

 

My experience at GRMI

What’s it like to be a part of the GRMI community?
– – Being a part of GRMI, I feel elated. The profession with which it is attaching me is making me feel good about myself.

How did the admissions process go for you?
– – It was a very good experience for me. Being a fresher, it was really great to sit for an interview with the industry leaders. 

What is one fact concerning GRMI that everyone should be aware of?
– – GRMI helps in understanding the challenges that every professional will be facing in the corporate world. This makes GRMI stand out from the crowd as an Institute.

Why should one pursue a career in risk management?
– – In the world of business, each and every activity that takes place is for the profit of the company. These activities have some risks along with them which will affect the objective of the organization. In order to mitigate this, and bring the business back on track, understanding and applying risk management is extremely crucial. I believe that a career in risk management in India has a wide scope considering the current market scenario.

What factors influenced your decision to enroll in this programme?
– – My interest in knowing the nitty-gritty of the business going wrong in its process and the kind of network and facilities that GRMI provides influenced my decision to join this professional course after graduation.

How would you define the GRMI faculty?
– – There are hardly any good risk management courses in India. And I must say that the experience with which the faculty comes in GRMI is simply amazing. They are able to give more real-time examples because of the industry experience that they have which in turn helps in a better understanding and I think this is required in any field.

What is the most efficient method of getting to the institute?
– – Having good communication skills, a good understanding of what risk management actually is, and your interest in learning.

In five years, where would you like to see yourself?
– – After 5 years, I would like to be in a top position in an IT company working as a full-time Risk Management professional. Whenever and wherever possible, I’d like to apply all my learnings in real life, and also it would be a great honor to mentor aspiring Risk Management professionals.

Do you consider the campus to be diverse?
– – Yes, the institute is very diverse based on geography, academic background, and industry experience.

What is the best way to summarize the enrollment process?
– – It was a very well-structured process to assess the compatibility of a student.

Is there an active and helpful alumni network?
– – Yes, the alumni group is very active and helps in each and every stage whenever required.

What types of extra-curricular activities do you do on campus?
– – Sports is something that I spend time doing after classes.

Why did you decide to enroll in GRMI?
– – The professional course in risk management that GRMI is providing drew my attention.
– – Industry oriented.
– – The type of facilities and the network of faculty.
