Hanish Barwal experience at GRMI. We asked a handful of our students to reflect on their time at GRMI so far and to answer a few questions we put them. We hope that this series of Q&A gives you a sense of who they are and what they think of the institute. We hope it also provides a window into their academic and extracurricular lives. My experience at GRMI

What’s it like to be a part of the GRMI community?
– – It feels great as all the students come from diverse backgrounds and have the same goal in their minds, also the faculty are highly experienced in their domains and this makes each one of us feel strongly about our future.

How did the admissions process go for you?
– – The admission process went well. We had to go through two rounds of interviews which tested the capability of a candidate and whether they are fit for this community or not.

What is one fact concerning GRMI that everyone should be aware of?
– – The faculty and the course structure cover holistically everything which helps in developing and building our professional career in risk management.

Why should one pursue a career in risk management?
– – I feel pursuing a career in risk management in India has tremendous scope in the current scenario. Their need has become more important than ever, as the corporates in India and around the world are increasingly facing business risks, at the same time demand for risk professionals is also rising exponentially.

A must-read for every risk management student.
– – You should see everything rationally and should be curious about everything.

What factors influenced your decision to enroll in this programme?
– – After going through the brochure, their website, and alumni feedback, I was sure that I should enroll in this programme, and also this is the only institute that covers every aspect of risk management.

Is there a hidden gem around the campus?
– – The hidden gem is the books which are available on the 5th floor, there are tons of educational books over there which can help you in your career as well as you personally.

How would you define the GRMI faculty?
– – They are one of the best with great knowledge and experience working tirelessly to provide better risk management careers to the aspirants.

What is the most efficient method of getting to the institute?
– – Going through the website and filling up the inquiry form is the best way, as it will lead you to the interviews and also you will know if you are fit for this course or not.

In five years, where would you like to see yourself?
– – Whatever I am doing, 5 years out, I see myself being very proficient in my role maybe help train one or two. Very competent in my abilities. In between 5 and 10 years I would like to be managing a team and have direct reports.

What drew your attention to the course and the institute?
– – This is the only institute in India that covers every aspect of risk management in just one year.
– – GRMI has a great placement record.
– – The faculty is another factor that compelled me to join GRMI.
