Mark De Groot : VP Accounting and Group Controller at Trivium Packaging

Mr. Mark R. De Groot serves as the VP Accounting and Group Controller at Trivium Packaging, a sustainable international metal packaging company, with over 50 sites in Europe, USA and Latin America, where he leads Global Controllership, Corporate Financial and Non-Financial Reporting, IFRS Technical Accounting, Internal Controls, Enterprise Risk Management and Business Continuity Planning. Based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Mark brings over 20 years of international experience in financial leadership to his role.
Previously, Mark held key Global Controller positions at SABIC and GE Plastics, in respectively, Riyadh, KSA and Pittsfield, MA, USA. In addition, he served 11 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Amsterdam, the Netherlands as well as Los Angeles, CA, USA.

With over 30 years of experience, he specializes in managing international controllership matters, financial statements, financial accounting (IFRS), transaction support for M&A activities and bond issuances, and acquisition accounting and other roles for multinational corporations.
He is a board member of various Trivium entities in the Netherlands.
He is a Board member and Treasurer of the Child Cancer Patient Foundation in the Netherlands, as well as a Board Member of the Cooperation Princess Maxima Centre for Child Oncology in the Netherlands
He earned his Master’s Degree in Business Economics and Accounting from the University of Groningen and is a certified public accountant (‘register accountant’) in the Netherlands
